Director Bio

I am a software Engineer by profession and budding film maker by passion. In my school days I used to watch plenty of movies in Tamil and English which created a great passion on film making. I am a great fan of Mr.BaluMahendra, Mr.ManiRatnam, Mr.Balachandar, Mr.Bharathiraja .Their movies taught me and shaped me a lot in various aspects .I wouldn’t watch their movies as ordinary 3 hour entertainer but something beyond that which shares a strong human values, the culture , humanity, behavior etc etc…which creates me a thirst on film making. So I started analyzing that how the vision will look like via the camera eye rather than a ordinary human eye. Being a Day dreamer I started dreaming about the shot,script,acting etc etc in my college days….after successful completion of my engineering degree I have started working on a software company, but still my dream on film making continues ..previously if anyone want to make a short film they have to go for 8mm or 35 mm film camera and they have to go for film grading and editing is also difficult too, but now the digital world makes the life easier … camcorder ,hard disc memory ,editing softwares which opens a pathway for the short film makers…which triggered me to start the film making, so being a fresher in that ,me and my colleague started a song sequence for a trial and after that I had made a one minute short film “equality in Diversity” and after that “Acham Thavir” in a GH1 Panasonic DSLR camera, In future I like to give different shades of human life in a good entertainment format.

Director's Statement

The movie “Acham Thavir” is made my non professionals.
I thought of start with a male based script in a very ordinary manner, so immediately an idea flashes that “fear” in a man’s ordinary life i.e. day to days life .so I had list out what are all the factors may affect (physically or psychologically)the man in his life. So i decided the bharathi’s poem “Acham Thavir” which suits for this movie and also which gives more meaning and solution to this film. so I had framed a screenplay and dialogues along with my colleague (Mr.Ganapathi) who is good at dialogue writing lyrics. Then I got an idea that why cant we make a song by our own ,so I knocked one more colleague’s door Mr. Abhishek Bag (Music composer of paravum varudam song )he composed and sung the song . Here the highlight is he doesn’t know Tamil, but he proved that music doesn’t require any language. Once the preproduction is over ,I knocked one more colleague’s door Mr .Kesavan C (editer and cinematographer ).He introduced me with one of his firend Mr. Ashok Varma (lead role in Acham Thavir) ,after seeing him itself I had decided that he is the lead role. And for other roles I had requested my colleagues to join. So in join hands with the help of Kesavan I had started the production. We took 9 days for the whole shoot (only in sat and Sundays)and for editing he took around 20 days.
